My first home visit.
Went for my first home visit today to an aged nursing home at Paya Lebar. It was pretty fun, and we put up performances like mass dance and songs etc for the elderly. The dance practice and learning before today was tiring, like yest danced for an hour plus non stop. and the dance so有活力... the steps so complicated. Then we sang alot of songs, from all time periods and all genres.
Haha. Jia Fen went hyper, singing every single song on the mike. Then we mingled around etc. It was pretty fun. But there was this sad part when we saw this daughter coming to visit her mother at the nursing home. The old woman had waited by the door for almost 15min in her wheelchair when the daughter came in. She greeted her mom, and her son went "ah mah!" very loudly. It was quite a nice scene except the woman left in less than 5min, dragging her son off too. The old woman just sat there. 15min of waiting juz for that "ma." and less than 5 min conversation and a pat on her hand. It was quite painful to watch It serves as a lesson to us not to do that in future. sigh. Reality bites. Joyce at 4:24 PM
